Create a successful & sustainable freelance writing business

on your own terms without hustling!

Become a No Hustle Freelance Writer

& create the right work lifestyle for you

Turning your passion for writing into a profitable career can be hard if you don’t know where to start.

Instead of feeling so stuck trying to figure it all out on your own, you can follow my proven step-by-step process.

I created this freelance writing course to help overwhelmed beginners like you build a sustainable copywriting or content writing business (without sacrificing every evening and weekend).

Stop browsing around like a headless chicken!

Does any of these sound familiar?

“I’ve only made peanuts on platforms like Upwork and content mills”

  • You thought that being a freelance writer could improve your lifestyle and bank account, but now you’re chained to these platforms

  • You waste time bidding for projects that offer a mere $10 for time-consuming 1000-word pieces

  • You haven’t had many clients so far, but it’s mostly been like dealing with that boss you hated… except now there’s more of them!

  • Your clients keep trying to get discounts, changing terms, and flat-out ghosting you

  • You’re working hard. You really are! And yet you’re not making a sustainable income

  • You’re tired and burned out

  • You’re starting to question whether this whole freelance writing thing can even work for you

“I haven’t earned a penny from my writing yet”

  • You really want to learn to be a freelance writer… but have absolutely no clue as to where to start

  • You keep lurking on freelance writing forums and reading contradicting advice

  • You’ve spent hours and hours reading free articles but can’t piece them all together to understand what process you should follow

  • You can’t even begin to think of how and where to find clients

  • Your family and friends don’t really get this ‘writing thing’ and keep telling you to stick to traditional employment

  • You’re trapped in a catch-22: “how can I get clients if I don’t have writing samples? And how can I get writing samples if I haven’t had any clients yet?”

  • You’d love to quit that soul-crushing job but you don’t actually believe you can make it work

You’ve recognized a few, right?

I know this because I’ve heard the same concerns from lots of aspiring or newbie writers, but also because… I went through most of them myself.

Years ago, when I had no experience as a freelance writer, I had no idea as to how to get started and actually make it work. Looking for (conflicting) information scattered all over the web was also incredibly disorienting, time-consuming, and overwhelming.

So, I created the freelance writing course I wish I had found when I was in your shoes.

freelance writing course for beginners review, how to make money as a freelance writer

Hi, I’m Kat Gál (I swear, that’s my full name)

Ten years ago, I used to get by with $1200-1500 a month despite having a master’s degree and working in research and education.

My husband was unemployed, we had no savings, and food stamps were our norm.

So, at first, when I decided to learn to be a freelance writer, my main goal was to cover rent and food. Surviving, basically.

Luckily, I matched my old job’s wage during my first month. Now? I make 8 - 10x that and have worked with some of the best health brands and functional medicine doctors as a health writer.

I’ll be honest, though: it was never really about the money for me. It’s about freedom and flexibility.

As a freelance writer with a sustainable business, I now have an adaptable schedule, can navigate my anxiety and chronic pain, travel more, and work from anywhere

So far, I’ve worked from South-East Asia, Central and South America, Europe, and across the US during month-long trips.

All things I couldn’t have even dreamed of had I been chained to traditional employment.

Working as a freelancer has helped me to navigate my chronic pain and mental health challenges. Any fellow spoonies out there? When I have a bad day, I can just rearrange my schedule to meet my needs.

Working only part-time (while working a full-time income!) allows more time for me, which includes fun times like running and traveling, but also downtime for my spoonie days or mental health days.

Not only that: my business also survived a global pandemic! While—sadly—many people were losing their jobs and companies closing down, I actually increased my revenue.

Because… guess what? Businesses will always need writers, even during recessions.

Your dreams may be different. Your definition of freedom may be different:

  • You may want to stay at home with your kids while working part-time hours.

  • You may want a flexible part-time opportunity along your studies.

  • You may want to take your work along on a road trip or while vanlife-ing your way.

  • You may need to navigate a disability or health issues without relying on government support.

  • You may want to work 40 hours a week…but may be only 10.

No matter what. Your dreams are valid!

If I went from ZERO experience as a freelance writer to creating a sustainable and successful freelance writing business (even hitting $10k months) on part-time hours (yes, you’ve read that correctly), there’s absolutely NO REASON why you can’t make your dreams a reality, too. Maybe your dreams are not the same. But you can make them happen.

You can too create a sustainable freelance writing business — on your own terms! without hustling!

In fact, you’re already one step ahead of me: you can follow my process, skip all my mistakes, and steal the lessons I’ve learned during my decade as a freelance writer.

Let me be clear: yes, you can create a successful and sustainable freelance business as a copywriter or content writer…

Despite what my best friend might tell you, I’m not that special. When trying to figure out how to freelance write with no experience, all I had was:

✔ a laptop

✔ willingness to learn

✔ a good grasp of grammar and basic writing skills

If you tick these three boxes, congratulations: you already have everything it takes to make a comfortable living as a freelance writer. You just need the right process.

In fact, lots of creative people started out in your same situation and are now running a successful writing business.

Because I promise: there’s a whole world outside content mills like Fiverr and Upwork

Businesses that’ll happily pay you $300 for a single blog post or $2,000 for website copy (and more!). Clients who won’t ask you for free samples. Working weeks without ridiculous next-day deadlines.

But, before you picture yourself waving goodbye to evenings with friends and weekends with your family, let me stop you right there.

… no, it doesn’t have to involve #hustling

If you’ve related with me so far, I bet we’re fellow misfits. I wasn’t made for the corporate world, but I’ve also never fit in with the hustle culture some entrepreneurs are obsessed with.

I’m not part of the 5 a.m. club (in fact, I’m a productive night owl), and I have zero intention of joining it, no matter how much #FOMO these hustlers are trying to inspire.

I could earn double the money if I worked 40 hours a week instead of part-time (or triple that with the 60-hour weeks some freelancers are somehow bragging about), but I’d rather have more time to live.

That’s why I want to make this clear:

My freelance writing course is NOT a shady get-rich-quick scheme, and it WON’T encourage you to get obsessed with reaching $5k, $10k, or $20k months (although you totally can get there with time, if you truly want to).

It’s about

✔ building a sustainable business

✔ creating a schedule that works for you

✔ earning enough to live comfortably so that you can enjoy a good lifestyle

And, to do that, you don’t need to hustle 24/7

Sure, you have to do the work and put my teaching into practice, but you won’t burn out.

You just need to have the right mindset, implement certain strategies, avoid common pitfalls, and work with clients who understand the value you can bring. And that’s exactly what I’m going to teach you, step by step.

After applying everything you learn from my course, you’ll get to
organize your life around your work, not the other way around!

What your life as a no hustle freelance writer will be like.

Picture this:

  • You’re your own boss and have turned your passion for writing into an actual business

  • You no longer have to waste hours of your life commuting

  • You can forget about having a manager (or multiple nightmare clients) breathing down your neck

  • You never stress about being fired or made redundant, and you’ve created a recession-proof business

  • You get to choose the working hours that suit you, not someone else

  • You can move around your schedule to meet that friend for lunch, pick up the kids from school, or go to that cool new event in town

  • You’re spending more time with your family and children instead of being stuck in an office eight hours a day

  • You’re planning yet another day trip during the week to avoid weekend crowds

  • You’re working with dream clients who respect your process and boundaries

  • You don’t have to worry about where the next client is going to come from because your new process helps you avoid feast and famine

  • You have emergency savings and can finally save for retirement

  • You’re enjoying more holidays and can work from abroad whenever you wish

  • You no longer feel like your life is slipping away

This is completely achievable once you know exactly what to do.

Now the question is: how soon do you want to make it happen?

Now ;) The answer is now

FAQs on the No Hustle Freelance Writer course

  • Well, I don’t have a marketing degree either.

Don’t get me wrong: I definitely think college can be incredibly beneficial, and I do have a BA and MSc myself (in Psychology and Educational Sciences, though: nothing to do with writing). Still, it’s NOT a requirement to learn to be a freelance writer.

This is a freelance writing course for beginners, so you don’t need any experience at all.

You must, however, have a good grasp of grammar and the English language because my course won’t teach you to form correct sentences or use punctuation.

As long as you can already do that, you’re good to go ;)

  • NO.

This is a freelance writing course for beginners who want to become successful copywriters or content writers (= writing marketing texts for other businesses. E.g. blog posts, website copy, emails, and more).

  • As long as you need to! You’ll get lifetime access to No-Hustle Freelance Writer and all the bonus materials as well as any future updates. Every material is downloadable to keep forever.

So, you can take this freelance writing course at your own pace and rewatch certain modules whenever you wish.

Remember, though: the sooner you commit to it, the sooner you’ll see some results.

  • Absolutely. You can access it no matter where you are in the world (as long as you have WiFi, at least).

  • I don’t, and that’s simply because it’s all digital and/or downloadable. If I did, people could just buy it, watch the videos, copy all the files, and then ask for their money back.

You should only take this course if you’re serious about it!

Not sure if it’s for you? Drop me a question at nohustlefreelancer@gmail.com, and I’ll give you an honest answer.

Still, while I don’t offer refunds, you’re more than welcome to contact me should you have any problems or questions about the course: I’ll always assist you :)

  • I do!

I want this course to be accessible to as many people as possible, so I’m offering one discount opteos on an honesty basis. No questions asked!

I just expect you to be fair and only use them if you truly need to based on your financial situation and identity-based privilege.

If you can afford to pay my regular rate, please be honest, and choose that option: I have put countless hours and hard work into creating all this for you!

This will also allow me to keep offering both the course and the discounts for those who actually need them.

If you can’t afford it, first see if you can save up or borrow from someone. If that’s not an option: use the code BETTER35 (35% OFF of the original price!).

I understand that the discount price is still not for everyone. I personally paid somewhat more for a freelance writing course when I was still living on food stamps. It was a tough financial decision.

  • You are right. There is a lot of free information out there. But if you don’t know what you are looking for, you may not find the right information.
